Biography

Education
I have taken two graduate-level classes at university of Kentucky Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences since 1998 when I joined the Kentucky Geological Survey. I have a Masters and Bachelor of Science degrees in Geology from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville (1992, 1997). I also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (1985).

Work Experience
I have been working at the Kentucky Geological Survey (Lexington, Ky) since 1998. My current research interests include natural arches. I have created county-scale joint maps and surficial geologic maps. I began my career at the Kentucky Geological Survey (KGS) by digitizing published geologic maps.

Prior to KGS, I worked at the Arkansas Geological Survey (Little Rock, Ar) for one year, from 1997 to 1998. I assisted in the mapping and digitization of geologic quadrangle maps in southwestern Arkansas. I worked as a teaching and research assistant at University of Tennessee in Knoxville while pursuing a Masters degree.

Before I returned to school for my geology degrees, I worked at the Chattanooga Freight Bureau (Chattanooga, Tn) brokering truckloads of freight, coordinating piggyback consolidation for railroad transportation, and auditing freight bills for clients. My first job after my first degree was a customer service representative at World Carpets (Dalton, Ga). Duties include processing customers carpet orders.

Research
My current research interests include natural arches. I also maintain a joint database. I have experience in digital geologic mapping, in creating surficial geologic maps in western and northern Kentucky, and bedrock geologic mapping in southwestern Arkansas, and the western Blue Ridge foothills in southeastern Tennessee.
