Biography

Mark Peredo is a multidisciplinary designer and creative strategist with more than two decades of experience working across visual communication, brand systems, and integrated design. At the Kentucky Geological Survey (KGS), he applies his design practice to support scientific research and public engagement, helping translate complex geological information into clear, accessible, and visually compelling communication across print and digital platforms.

Mark’s design approach is rooted in strategic thinking and systems-level clarity. He focuses on building cohesive visual frameworks that function consistently across traditional and digital media, ensuring that design solutions are purposeful, durable, and adaptable across multiple touchpoints. His work spans brand development, editorial and publication design, web and digital experiences, and campaign execution, with experience across B2B, industrial, cultural, and lifestyle contexts.

Beyond his professional work, Mark maintains a deep connection to the environment and the outdoors, values that closely align with his work at KGS. An avid climber, he has summited high-altitude peaks including Cerro Tunari in Bolivia’s Cochabamba region (approximately 5,035 meters / 16,519 feet) and Tunupa, a dormant volcano rising above the Uyuni Salt Flats at roughly 5,321 meters (17,457 feet). These experiences inform his perspective on resilience, exploration, and the importance of place—principles that subtly shape both his creative practice and his commitment to environmental awareness.

Known for his collaborative approach and thoughtful execution, Mark’s role as a designer extends beyond visual layout and supports a wide range of integrated communications initiatives for KGS.  His work includes web design, film editing & graphics, collateral design, content development and digital asset creation — helping ensure a cohesive visual presence aligned with University of Kentucky standards.
