I currently work as a project geologist for the energy and environment division at Leidos. Prior to joining Leidos, I was a Technical Manager and Contracting Officer’s Representative for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where I worked on various environmental remediation projects for several different branches of the military. I have a B.S. in Geology from Morehead State University (2017) and an M.S.in Geology from the University of Kentucky (2019). My master’s thesis was titled “Holocene Hydroclimatic and Vegetation Reconstruction in the Sierra Nevada using Pollen and Stable Isotopes from Convict Lake,” which focused on using a paleolimnological approach to climate reconstruction and modeling. This data set was recently published in a Quaternary International paper I co-authored, titled Sedimentary records of late Pleistocene-Holocene paleoenvironments from Convict Lake (California, USA). I am the current chair of the University of Kentucky Earth and Environmental Sciences Alumni Advisory Board. Outside of work, I’m a performing aerial circus artist and creative writer. I love art, baking, the outdoors, and staying active. I live in Lexington, Kentucky, with my dear partner, a spoiled rotten basset hound, and one chaos agent of a cat.

Peter Goodmann serves as the Director of Water Quality and Research at Louisville Water Co. where he oversees water quality, the water quality lab, treatment and distribution system compliance, the cross-connection program, water quality research, and source water protection. He also works in new business development and regionalization, and on water policy issues. Mr. Goodmann was previously the Director of the Kentucky Division of Water for several years, having worked for the Department for Environmental Protection since 1993, as a manager and as Assistant Director of the Division of Water. He was responsible for overseeing Kentucky’s water regulatory programs, including the Clean Water Act, the Safe Drinking Water Act, the Water Resources Management programs, and the Kentucky Agriculture Water Quality Act. Mr.
Goodmann earned his B.S. in Geology from the University of Iowa (1983), his M.A. in Geology from Temple University (1986), and he conducted other post-graduate work at the University of Kentucky, where he was a Chevron Fellow.
