Advisory Board Purpose

The Advisory Board serves as a vital link between the Kentucky Geological Survey and the communities, industries, and stakeholders we serve. Board members provide strategic counsel on research priorities, help identify emerging needs, and ensure our work remains relevant and impactful for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Advisory Board members are appointed by the Governor of Kentucky to staggered 3-year terms. Members represent a range of sectors including industry, academia, government, and non-profits. The board meets biannually to review KGS activities, provide feedback, and discuss opportunities for collaboration.
