Locations

This facility provides an enhanced workspace tailored to the needs of our research, particularly for our new Horiba LabRAM Odyssey Raman microscope installed in May 2025. This space supports our advanced instrumentation and ongoing projects, enabling us to continue exploring the geochemical processes that shape mineral systems with even greater efficiency and precision.

Biography
Dr. Gina Lukoczki is a research scientist (Geologist IV) and licensed professional geologist specializing in mineral systems and energy materials geoscience. She directs the GEMS Lab—Geochemical Exploration of Mineral Systems—where her work integrates geochemistry, mineralogy, crystallography, and advanced analytical techniques to better understand the formation and distribution of Earth’s critical mineral resources.
Her expertise includes fluid inclusion microthermometry, isotope geochemistry, and Raman spectroscopy, which she applies to reconstruct the thermal and chemical evolution of mineral systems. Her current research investigates the role of deep crustal boundaries in ore deposit genesis and contributes to the U.S. Geological Survey’s Earth Mapping Resources Initiative (Earth MRI). She is also engaged in developing artificial intelligence approaches to mineral exploration.
